Who We Are
Our Environmental Responsibility
Aberdeen Embroidery Company Limited t/a Abstitch designs, orders, produces, customises, stores and delivers embroidery, heat-print and garment alteration services from its premises at Ann Street, Aberdeen, AB25 3LH. We recognise that our activities – principally the electricity used by our embroidery machines and heat presses, the textile, thread, packaging and office waste we generate, the products we buy and the garments we send to customers – have an impact on the environment, and we are committed to managing that impact responsibly.

Protect the environment
Protect the environment and prevent pollution in everything we do, including the responsible storage of the LPG cylinders and the adhesives and cleaning products held on site.
Meet our obligations
Identify and fulfil our compliance obligations – the environmental laws and regulations that apply to us in Scotland, the conditions of our lease, and the environmental requirements of our customers and tenders.
Use resources efficiently
Use energy, water and materials efficiently, and reduce waste by re-using and repurposing surplus and rejected garments before recycling, and by keeping textile waste out of landfill.
Think life cycle
Consider the life cycle of our products when we design jobs, choose suppliers and garments, pack orders and advise customers on care and end-of-life disposal.
Measure and improve
Set, monitor and review measurable environmental objectives, using this policy as the framework, and continually improve our environmental management system to enhance our environmental performance.
Involve everyone
Make sure every person working for or on behalf of Abstitch understands this policy, their own environmental responsibilities and how they contribute.
Scope & Certification
This policy applies to all activities within the scope of our environmental management system, which is certified against ISO 14001:2015 (BSI certificate EMS 833991).
Review
Reviewed at least annually at management review.
This policy is communicated to all staff at induction and through the notice board, and is available to customers, suppliers and any other interested party on request and on our website.
